You can learn to ski
In the snow season, the Ptarmigan Nordic Ski Club runs a learn-to-ski
program for adult beginners and novices.  We teach both classic
and skate skiing.  Lessons are at the Doug Barnes Cabin
on Saturday afternoons and start (on the snow) at 1:00 p.m. sharp.
Lessons are free
Lessons are free of charge.  For insurance purposes, students must
become members of the Ptarmigan Nordic Ski Club.  Adult membership
fees are $20 for the year.  Sign up at the cabin 15 minutes before
the lesson starts.
Where do I get skis?
The Ski Club has a limited number of skis, poles and boots available
for adult students who want to try the sport.  This equipment is
for use during lessons only.  To use these skis, arrive 30
minutes before the lesson, as it is loaned out on a first come -
first serve basis.  Skiers who decide to take up the
sport are encouraged to buy their own ski equipment so that others
have a chance to try.  This equipment is not for rent.
How do I sign up?
